FDMT Presents the Annual Drill in the Hood July 15th
The Fire Department of Montgomery Township (FDMT) will be holding its annual Drill in the Hood at Spring Valley Park (off of Upper State Road or Claremont Drive). The event will begin at 7PM. The Fire Department will be displaying apparatus and having live demonstrations on the services they provide to the community.
Here Come the Mango Men!
Join us on Thursday, July 18th from 7PM- 8:15PM at Gazebo Park located behind the Township Building for one of the most requested summer concert bands: The Mango Men!Their interactive and energetic performing style features originals, classic rock, pop and a hint of country. The band takes great pride in fully entertaining their audiences from the very first song to the last, leaving them screaming for more!

Leaf and Yard Waste Drop-Off July 20th
Your leaf and yard waste can be dropped off on the third Saturday of every month. The collection takes place at the William F. Maule Park at Windlestrae off of Kenas Road from 8AM-Noon.
Leaf waste is defined as leaves, garden residues shrubbery and tree trimmings, and similar material, but does not include grass clippings. Yard waste is defined as twigs, shrub trimmings, small branches, and vegetative-likematter.
All materials for the drop-off must be placed in brown paper biodegradable leaf bags. Drop-offs are prohibited outside of this collection.

The Montgomery County Commissioners authorize this annual event to prevent tires from being improperly disposed of and to reduce breeding grounds for disease carrying mosquitoes. The tires that are collected will be shredded and re-purposed by a local business into products such as road surface material, highway sound barrier wall material and playground material.

Water Main Replacement at Knapp Elementary School - Work Ongoing
North Penn Water Authority's contractor is continuing the installation of the water main on Knapp Road starting at Norway Drive and ending at Clear Spring and Frederick Roads. The route runs along Knapp Road to the entrance of Knapp Elementary School at Valley Brook Drive, and continues to Frederick Road in Lansdale Borough and Montgomery Township.
The work is estimated to be completed by August 16th. This water main work is being completed in coordination with the North Penn School District to prevent impacting school operations.
Crews will be working in the area from 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Traffic control will be in effect during main installation, and there may be lane restrictions in effect on Knapp Road for brief periods of time during the construction period. Emergency vehicles will have access to the area, and to the fullest extent possible, every effort will be made to keep open access to local residents. Once installed, the main will be flushed, sampled and then placed into service.
