Shade Tree Commission

The mission of the Shade Tree Commission is to preserve, protect, and replace the shade trees within Montgomery Township in order to maintain an ecological balance.
The purpose of the Commission is to better provide for the planting, maintenance and protection of shade trees within or partially within the ultimate right-of-way along public streets and highways of Montgomery Township and also upon public lands of the Township.  The Commission shall have exclusive control of the shade trees in the Township.  It is authorized to plant, remove, maintain and protect shade trees on the public streets and highways in the Township, excluding State highways.

Community Forestry Workshop Coming this November!

The Montgomery Township Shade Tree Commission and Bartlett Tree Experts will be hosting their 2nd Annual Community Tree Workshop on November 2, 2018. This seminar will focus on improving the skills of arborists, foresters, and landscapers, especially those who manage and care for parks, school grounds and other public spaces. Private arborists and other green industry professionals are welcomed as well. This one day event brings in industry experts from around the region to provide professional training and education.

The cost is $79 per registrant with continental breakfast and hot lunch included.

ISA, PCH, and PA Pesticide CEU credits for this seminar are available.
