The Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission has developed a Regional Streetlight Procurement Program to assist municipalities to design, procure, and finance the transition of their street lighting systems to LED Technology.

Montgomery Township is participating in this program, which will convert streetlights in residential neighborhoods and lighting on Township roads. This change will reduce maintenance costs and help the environment by reducing the energy needed. Before installation of the lights, the Township will use a pilot installation in the area of Mallard Drive just past Camp Drive. The pilot will help gauge what the best color temperature will be to provide adequate light, while creating a minimal visual disturbance.
