FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE- MONTGOMERY TOWNSHIP AWARDED THE CERTIFICATE OF ACHIEVEMENT FOR EXCELLENCE IN FINANCIAL REPORTING FOR THE 9th CONSECUTIVE YEAR.

Montgomeryville, PA- January 28- The Montgomery Township Finance Department has received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting awarded by the Government Finance Officers Association. This is the 9th consecutive year that the Finance Department has received this award. The Township received the certificate for the fiscal year ended December 2018.

According to the Government Finance Officers Association, The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

To earn this certificate, the Finance Department has to prepare a comprehensive annual financial report showing the “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate the township’s financial story and motivate potential users to read the report.
