MTMSA is excited to announce the approval of over $1,100,000 in grant funding for two upcoming projects.
Our sincere appreciation goes out to Senator Collett, Representative Cerrato, and Representative Malagari for their support and efforts to help secure the funds.
The funding will be used for the following projects:
- Enhanced physical security and access control at the Eureka Wastewater Treatment Plant. This will provide additional protection of our critical wastewater infrastructure which will allow us to stronger controls to monitor and restrict access to our treatment plant, including the various buildings which store potentially dangerous chemicals that are a necessary component of the treatment process.
- Conversion to a state-of-the-art ultraviolet disinfection treatment process of wastewater at the Eureka Wastewater Treatment Plant. This upgrade will allow the plant to eliminate the use of chlorine gas, an extremely reactive element, and replace it with ultraviolet disinfection which is significantly more environmentally friendly.
