Montgomery Township is very fortunate to have been able to retain significant amounts of land throughout the community that are designed as passive open space areas. These lands provide residents with many opportunities to enjoy all that passive open space can offer- tranquility, beauty, and a sense of community. In many situations, these areas also serve as a buffer between different use groups and neighborhoods adding to the quality of life within the Township.
Please be advised that any activities involving the placement of fences, sheds, play equipment, tree houses and the clearing, cutting, mowing and/or other landscaping within these public unimproved natural open space areas is prohibited. These activities can result in the Township taking the necessary enforcement steps to protect these areas from encroachment or degradation.
Should a resident become aware of any possible encroachment into our community's open space areas, please contact the Planning & Zoning Department at 215-393-6920.
