Important Reminder Regarding School Taxes from Real Estate Tax Collector, Trish Gallagher

The face or base period for school taxes ends October 31. US Post Office post mark of October 31 is acceptable. Click here for more information.

School Tax Bills will be mailed the week of July 1. If you do not receive a tax bill, please contact my office (215-996-9999) to get a copy, as you are not relieved of the tax liability if no bill is received. If you receive a tax bill in error, please call my office or return the bill with a note. This helps ensure the new owners receive their bills. Please see important details below.

  • All school real estate taxes are due as stated on your current bill.
  • The penalty amount will be 5% instead of 10%.
  • There will be the option of paying in six (6) installments this year – see insert included with your school tax bill.
  • Please write your phone number on your payment so I can reach you if your payment has an error.

The discount period for Township/County taxes ended on June 30, 2020, and the face period will began July 1, 2020, and closes on December 31, 2020. No penalty will be imposed for the Township/County taxes if paid by December 31, 2020.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no in person collection hours for the remainder of 2020. If this changes, updates will be made to the township website, township weekly newsletter, township cable channel news and voice message.

Tax payments as well as requests for tax certifications may be placed in a sealed envelope and dropped into a locked box outside the Montgomery Township Police Department (1001 Stump Road) at any time. Enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope, and a receipt will be mailed to you.

You can also pay your tax bill via credit card by phone 1-800-2PAYTAX, or online at The JURISDICTION CODE IS 4865. I, personally, do not take credit cards. Official Payments is the processing company – they charge a 3% fee to you for the processing. We are Montgomery Township in Montgomery County.

Any Address/Name Changes/Death or Marriage updates must be made via Montgomery County. You can contact them at the Board of Assessments by calling 610-278-3761, faxing 610-278-3560 or email

The office will be closed the weeks of July 5th and October 5th.

Thank you all for your support and stay well. I look forward to seeing you again once the pandemic is over. It is my honor to serve as your elected Tax Collector representing you and the township. Please do not hesitate to contact me.

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns.
