Welcome to our township!


The Patrol Division is supervised by Lieutenant Gerald Dougherty and is comprised of twenty-seven sworn officers. These officers are divided into four squads consisting of five patrol officers and a Sergeant. Additionally, there are three officers who support the four squads on a daily basis, rotating during peak call-hours.


The Patrol Divisions primary purpose is to respond to all emergency and non-emergency calls for service within Montgomery Township. The officers assigned to the Patrol Division also utilize proactive policing activities such as traffic enforcement and criminal detection patrol in order to protect life and property. Officer assigned to the Patrol Division also respond to mutual aid request for assistance from other police departments. The Montgomery Township Police Department has an outstanding working relationship with other law enforcement agencies and is committed to assisting all public service professionals in the performance of their duties.
