2011 Audit Information
Maillie Falconiero & Company, LLP completed the audit for Montgomery Township and its component units for the year ended December 31, 2011. Component Units of the Township included in the audit report are the Montgomery Township Sewer Authority and Fire Department of Montgomery Township. As in past years, the auditors have rendered an "unqualified" opinion as detailed in their letter and Independent Auditors' Report letter. A copy of the CAFR is available online for review.
This year' audit has been prepared in the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) format with several new components. The components of this report include the Introductory Letter, List of Officials, Regional Maps and a significant Statistical section. This format is intended to provide readers with additional historical perspective along with content and detail on the Township so as to better understand the Township's economic condition. This information is in addition to "Management's Discussion and Analysis" which provides a summary of the detailed audit.
The Government Finance Officer's Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) reviews and evaluates CAFR submissions for consideration of award of a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting. In order to be awarded this Certificate of Achievement, a government must publish an easily readable and efficiently organized comprehensive annual financial report. This report must satisfy both generally accepted accounting principles and applicable legal requirements.
