The Montgomery township municipal sewer authority was formed in 1963 by the Montgomery Township Board of Supervisors to finance and operate the township's sanitary sewer system.
The authority has a Board of Five members who are appointed by the Board of Supervisors to fulfill five-year terms.
The manager is appointed by the Authority Board to manage the administrative functions of the authority.
The superintendent is appointed by the Authority Board to oversee the operation, repair, and maintenance of the sanitary sewer system.
The sanitary sewer system consists of one wastewater treatment plant, seven pump stations, six meter pits, fifteen acres of rights-of way and easements and 75 miles of sewer lines.
