In Memory of Officer David T. Hancock
February 11, 1935 - December 11, 1976
Officer Hancock was killed in the line-of-duty on December 11, 1976 while responding to a silent burglar alarm.
He began his career in law enforcement as a Patrolman with the Whitpain Township Police Department in March, 1955.
Officer Hancock joined the Montgomery Township Police Department in March, 1966. In addition to his duties as a patrolman with the department, he performed Juvenile Officer duties on an as-needed basis. The Department did not establish a full-time Juvenile Officer position until much later in its’ history.
